The Mason’s Maple: Premium End-Grain Brick Pattern Cutting Board
Brighten your kitchen with the clean, professional aesthetic of Hard Rock Maple.
Designed for the serious home cook and the design enthusiast alike, this cutting board is a functional work of art. The foundation is built from durable, creamy white American Hard Maple, arranged in a classic "brickwork" layout. Fully customizable to fit your workflow, this board combines the legendary toughness of Maple with bespoke design.
Why This Board is Different
1. The End-Grain Advantage
Constructed so the wood fibers stand vertically, this board is self-healing. Your knife slips between fibers rather than cutting them, keeping your blades sharper for longer and resisting the deep scratches where bacteria hide.
2. Hygiene-First Hardware
Standard rubber feet can trap moisture. Our custom metal feet lift the board for airflow, and the traction comes from a high-grade rubber O-ring. Because the O-ring is removable, you can pop it out to wash and sanitize the foot base completely—ensuring a truly clean workspace.
3. Display Stand Included
We believe your board should be admired even when not in use. Every order includes a matching board stand. This allows you to display the board vertically on your counter as a piece of functional art. More importantly, storing the board on its edge is the best way to ensure it dries evenly on both sides after washing to prevent warping.
4. Heirloom Quality
Hand-sanded to a silk-smooth finish and saturated with food-safe mineral oil and beeswax, this board is built to last a lifetime. Note: Cherry wood naturally darkens and becomes richer in color with exposure to light, making it even more beautiful as it ages.
5. Authentication
The Unique Serial Number: Every board is a distinct individual. We route a specific serial number into the wood that combines the "Birth Date" (Year/Month/Day of the first oil bath) with the Production Unit Number (Example: 2026010407). This marks your board's specific place in our history.
6. Routed Instructions
Preservation is key. We CNC-route the cleaning and maintenance instructions deep into the back of the board, so the knowledge of how to care for this heirloom is never lost.
7. “Fresh Start” Resurfacing program
We understand that a well-loved board will eventually show signs of wear. To keep your heirloom in peak condition, we offer a Complimentary Resurfacing Service.
The Service: We will professionally sand your board down to a fresh layer of wood, removing deep knife marks and stains, and re-apply our signature hot oil and beeswax finish.
Limit: This service is available two (2) times per board serial number.
Eligibility: To ensure the structural integrity of the wood is not compromised, this service is only available for boards where the current thickness is greater than 1.5 inches. Boards thinner than this measurement cannot be safely planed down further without risk of warping.
Shipping: The customer is responsible for all shipping and handling costs (both to our facility and the return shipping to your home).
Build Your Custom Board
Tailor "The Mason’s Maple" to your exact specifications by choosing from the 5 options below:
Option 1: Choose Your Size
Whether you need a compact bar board or a massive island centerpiece, we have the right fit.
* Small: Perfect for quick garnishes, cheese serving, or compact kitchens.
* Medium: The daily driver. Ideal for standard vegetable prep and meal making.
* Large: Professional grade. Plenty of room for carving roasts or managing multiple ingredients.

Option 2: Choose Your Mortar (Accent Wood)
The thin accent strips running between the bright Maple bricks define the character of the board.
* Walnut Mortar (High Contrast): Rich, dark Chocolate Walnut strips create a bold, modern definition against the light Maple. This offers the highest visual contrast, emphasizing the geometric brick pattern.
* Cherry Mortar (Subtle Warmth): Reddish-brown Cherry wood offers a softer, colorful transition. This combination creates a warm, inviting palette that looks beautiful in traditional and farmhouse kitchens.
Option 3: Choose Your Foundation (Feet)

Option 4: Surface Style (Juice Groove)

* No Juice Groove: A seamless, edge-to-edge flat surface. Ideal for bakers needing maximum space for rolling dough, or for a clean, minimalist serving platter.
Option 5: Handling (Finger Grooves)
End-grain maple is dense and heavy; choose how you want to handle it.
* With Finger Grooves: Recessed channels routed into the bottom edge of the board’s sides. This creates a hidden lifting point that allows you to easily pick up the board without disrupting the clean visual lines of the side profile.
* No Finger Grooves: A completely flush rectangular block for a seamless, architectural look.1. The End-Grain Advantage
